Barcelona and Real Madrid had an anomaly start this season, their both loose in their first match, Barcelona loosing 1-0 from Numancia in an away game, and so does Real Madrid loosing 2-1 from the home team Deportivo La Coruna.

In Numancia Stadium Despite Barcelona having the majority of possession and the best opportunities, it was the Numancia that win the match, as they packed their defence and looked to play on the break as it proceed to be a successful formula as Mario netted the only goal of the in the 13th minute. After that, the home team sat back to defend their lead and allowed Barcelona to dictate the player while making things very difficult by putting two player in front of four defense.

In Riazor Real Madrid didn't have a good start to the competition. Mista scores the first goal in the first half after he netted a header with a bounce from a set piece by Guardado in 26^th Minute. Real Madrid tried hard to net another strike, but Deportivo gave no quarter and scored again when Lopo headed the ball into the back of the net from a corner kick by Guardado in 51th minute. The Whites kept trying to score an equalizer, but they always failed, so until the match over the score is still 2- 1 for the home team.
